Winners: SF vs. LAD

I’ve been MIA for a minute but I’m back with more action today. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (-140) won her match on Thursday and our run of winning continues. We’re now 34-2 in our last 36 bets. Let’s see if we can keep it going.

Let’s move to today.

Today, the San Francisco Giants play at the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Giants have struggled the entire season while the Dodgers have struggled recently. However, the Dodgers have leveled out its play recently and just clinched the NL West division title. Starting for the Giants is Chris Stratton who has been in and out of starting a lot this season. He’s 3-3 with a 3.94 ERA in eight starts this season. Stratton has only faced the Dodgers one time this season, but it was for only 1/3 of an inning. Over his career, current Dodgers players only have five at-bats against him but they are a combined two-for-five, for whatever that’s worth.

Starting for the Dodgers is Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw is 17-4 on the season with a 2.26 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. Since coming off the DL, he hasn’t been consistently dominant but he hasn’t been terrible. He’s alternated wins and losses in September and he’s coming off a loss in his last start to the Phillies 4-3. The good news is he’s typically been good against the Giants. Giants players are batting .198 against Kershaw and that’s with 410 official at-bats.

Here are some trends that may decide the game:

  • San Francisco is 4-11 in its last 15 games against a started with a WHIP less than 1.15
  • Los Angeles is 9-2 in Kershaw’s last 11 starts against the Giants

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -300 (Bet $76.32 to win $25.44)

Like I stated earlier, Kershaw has been inconsistently dominant recently. However, with his pedigree and history against a familiar opponent, I’m somewhat comfortable playing more money on this pick. Obviously, I have no control but I’m hoping for Kershaw to do Kershaw things today.

Finger crossed, as usual.
