Winners: BMG vs. RBL

Another winner yesterday. It felt good to pick a baseball game for the first time in a while. We’ve been riding the soccer wave and sprinkling in a different sport here and there. The strategy seems to be working for us so we’ll stick to it. Here’s to more of the same.

Let’s move to today’s action.

Today, Borussia Monchengladbach visits Red Bull Leipzig in Bundesliga action. Leipzig was a surprise last season as it finished second in the Bundesliga out of nowhere. I watched its Champions League match earlier in the week and saw its players for the first time. This team has a lot of talent. It dominated its opponent in every way. The only player I had previously seen for them was Timo Werner, who starred for Germany in its Confederations Cup tournament victory. Leipzig is currently tied for fourth in the Bundesliga after three games with six points. Borussia Monchengladbach is tied for eighth, sitting in 11th place due to goal differential. It has four points from three games. Monchengladbach has a few notable names, including the only player Jurgen Klinsmann added to the US national team that I thought was good, Fabian Johnson. However, there is no one who stands out to me as a game changer.

Here’s how we’ll bet it.

  • Pick 1: Red Bull Leipzig -165 (Bet $25 to win $15.25)
  • Pick 2: Draw +310 (Bet $10 to win $31)

To be honest, I was really impressed by the way Leipzig played in the Champions League. I haven’t seen them play a lot, but I know some of the players now. I know their work rate and how they approach the game. Also, it’s a home game for them so there is a little extra confidence. I believe Leipzig can, and need, to get points from this game.

Fingers crossed.
