Winners: ATL vs. MIN

Before I get into tonight’s game, let me state the obvious – it’s been a rough week. We went 0-3 yesterday on straight picks and lost both parlays. That’s a 2-5 record on the week for straight bets and 0-4 on parlays. Underperforming drives me crazy so I’m doing everything possible to turn this around. This is terrible so my rally cap is on.

Today we’re focusing on just one pick, pushing all but the last $10 of our chips to middle of the table. We’re jumping into WNBA action tonight, so maybe that’s the change we desperately need.

Tonight, the Atlanta Dream play at the Minnesota Lynx. The Dream are clinging to the final playoff spot in the league right now, trying to rebound from back-to-back losses at home. On the other side, Minnesota is off to its best start in franchise history and owns the WNBA’s best record at 19-2, three games better than the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks. Minnesota handed Atlanta the first of those back-to-back losses in Atlanta last week, winning 90-80, leading from beginning to end.

It should be an interesting game, but hopefully not too interesting. Sylvia Fowles leads the Lynx and is the front-runner for league MVP. She’s been Western Conference Player of the Month every month this season, and is second in the league in scoring and third in both blocks and rebounds. The Lynx have won championships every other year since 2011 so they are in line to the title this season. They also have only lost one game this season at home and that was in June, giving up a fourth quarter lead to do so. I know I say do not bet against your time, but if it’s a sure thing you have to do it, right?

Pick: Minnesota Lynx -795 (Bet $74.07 to win $9.32)

I’m hoping for the best tonight to flip this week before going into the weekend. I’ll be anxiously awaiting updates from the Sports Action App.
