The Boston Red Sox play Cleveland tonight in a battle of playoff contenders. Cleveland sends Carlos Carrasco to the mound. Carrasco is 10-4 this season with a 3.58 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Boston players who have faced Carrasco are batting .265 against him which isn’t great but it’s not terrible. It’s average.
The Red Sox are sending Chris Sale to the mound. He’s only allowed 15 earned runs in nine starts at Fenway Park this season in even better than that, Sale hasn’t allowed a run in almost 21 innings. We bet Chris Sale last week against the Mariners and they won easily. I said Sale is the Cy Young favorite for the American League in the article I wrote and Vegas thinks so too. He’s currently -250 consensus to win the award, the only pitcher who’s not getting money. Check out some of his stats below.
At this point, Sale is in Kershaw territory and you should bet the Red Sox every time he pitches.
To add to that, here’s something weird but interesting – Cleveland is 1-6 in their last seven Tuesday games. That’s a coincidental stat like saying it’s rained six of the last seven Tuesdays. Who knows why that is the case. But I’ll go with it.
