Winners: Mannarino vs. Goffin

Well, we won both games last night. It didn’t take long for the US to guarantee victory for us but Cleveland made us hold our breath. We’re now 31-2 in our last 33 picks. Cleveland just finds a way to win and all you can do is respect that. Plus we won, so there’s that.

Very early tomorrow morning, Adrian Mannarino plays David Goffin in the final of the Rakuten Japan Open. I don’t usually bet games when I’m not familiar with the participants but I do occasionally bet based on history when there is good value from Vegas. David Goffin and Adrian Mannarino have played twice in their careers with Goffin winning both competitions. More importantly, both matches were played on hard surfaces in 2015 and 2012. Here’s how we’ll bet it.

Pick: David Goffin -220 (Bet $41.25 to win $18.75)

We’ll use the money we won from yesterday’s games to try to come up a little more this week. Goffin has played Mannarino twice and has yet to drop a set in four total, although one ended early because Mannarino retired in the tournament in 2012. Despite the short history, we’ll hope for the best very early tomorrow morning and hopefully we wake up to good news.

Fingers crossed.

*PS – I also thought about betting against the Dodgers tonight. Just a heads up, Rich Hill has struggled against the Diamondbacks (+130) this season and there’s tremendous value in that pick. But I don’t want to bet against the Dodgers because I want them to win.
