Well, yesterday Angelique Kerber and Stanford won comfortably. Nevada almost killed us before escaping with a win in overtime. I generally hate the first game of the season, but at this point, there's no time to waste. Our new balance is $285.25 before the first Saturday of the college football season.
Here are today's pick. All college football. Speaking of Johnny Manziel, it's all SEC today.
- Parlay 1 ($15 to win $17.64)
- LSU Tigers (-650) vs. Wisconsin Badgers
- Alabama Crimson Tide (-500) vs. USC Trojans
- Georgia Bulldogs (-175) vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
Here's the reasoning behind the picks. All three games are "neutral site" games but they are geographically closer to one of the teams than the other. Both Wisconsin and Georgia play in their states, while Alabama plays in Texas. LSU plays Wisconsin. LSU is lead by one of the Heisman front-runners Leonard Fournette. The two teams played two years ago, with LSU winning by a close margin. However, LSU was "rebuilding" at the time and Wisconsin was at their peak. Alabama plays USC in Dallas. Alabama is the defending national champion and Nick Saban is 9-0 in season openers. No one (maybe Urban Meyer) is better at getting a team prepared with a lot time before a game. Georgia plays North Carolina in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Georgia starts the season with new head coach and alum Kirby Smart, Nick Saban's long-time defensive coordinator. They return Greyson Lambert at quarterback, who went 10-2 as a starter last season and a stout group of running backs, including Nick Chubb. Last season, North Carolina was the 11th worst team of 128 stopping the run.
We've had a good week, so we're trying to put the cherry on top.
