Day 4

Well, we got back to winning yesterday. It boosted our balance to $239.55. Let's try to keep it going.

Today gets interesting. College football is back with multiple games and tennis is finally available. We're going big today. Take a look a today's bet's below.

  • Parlay 1 ($100 to win $20.42)
    • Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (-750) vs. Rice Owls
    • Tennessee Volunteers (-1600) vs. Appalachian State Mountaineers

Here's the reasoning behind the picks. First, they're both home favorites. Western Kentucky beat Rice last season 49-10 on the road, and even though they lost their starting quarterback, a lot of their offensive personnel returns. They should be able to win at home, even if it's by a closer margin. Tennessee plays Appalachian State in their first game of the season. Everyone remembers App State beating Michigan. The circumstances of that game are much different than this game. If Tennessee takes this game lightly knowing what they have on the line, they deserve to lose and I deserve to lose my money.

  • Parlay 2 ($100 to win $13.84)
    • Tennessee Volunteers (-1600) vs. Appalachian State Mountaineers
    • Novak Djokovic (-1400) vs. Mikhail Youzhny

Here's the reasoning behind the picks. Tennessee reasoning is stated earlier. Novak Djokovic is playing against Mikhail Youzhny in the third round of the US Open tomorrow morning but I want it on the parlay. Djokovic is clearly the number 1 ranked player in the world, but I looked at their match history for some insights. They've played 9 times previously and Djokovic is 6-3 against Youzhny. However, his last loss was in 2010 before he was the top ranked player. Since then, they've played 4 times and he is undefeated. I expect it to be competitive though.

More money obviously makes me more nervous. Still, let's see.
